Pre Birth Acupuncture & Massage
“If the qi is correct and if the blood is circulating well labor is described as harmonious”
In clinical practice acupuncture is an ideal method to help women prepare themselves to have the most efficient labor possible. Pre-birth acupuncture treatments are usually done in the final weeks of pregnancy (around week 36) to prepare women for childbirth. In the form of a standard set of points, it can help prepare a woman’s body for birth, with an emphasis on preparing the cervix and pelvis for labor. As well, the treatment can be given to deal with medical conditions such as pregnancy induced hypertension, and symptoms such as heartburn and hemorrhoids. Other advantages of pre-birth acupuncture treatment are:
-Great probability of giving birth within 42 weeks
-Quicker dilation
-Breathing is deeper and more freely
-Easier to cope with contractions
-Less fatigued and faster recovery after birth
-Easier to breastfeed
*Pre-birth acupuncture treatments are recommended once a week for three weeks prior to the woman’s due date.*
Breech baby Breech position (when the baby is positioned bottom-down late in pregnancy) around week 34, can be helped by acupuncture and moxibustion (moxa stick to warm the acupuncture point) as well. Several treatments are needed to help the baby turn in the right position.
Labor induction Acupuncture can help to promote labor, it can be very effective in inducing women who are past their due date. Commitment to daily sessions/several sessions is needed for better results. Scheduling the treatment with enough time before the medical induction is recommended. Treatments are around the week 40or beginning of week 41 with 2 to 4 daily treatments for better results.
All Pre Birth treatments can be combined with a 60 minute massage for ultimate relaxation before labor.
**Please keep in mind that the Acupuncture treatment to promote labor can be a catalyst, but the baby and your body will ultimately decide when they are ready.**
Massages
I’m trained in Tuina, Mobilisation & Chinese relaxing massage, all of them based on Traditional Chinese Medicine manipulation techniques: they combine several gentle hand-techniques like kneading, rotating, pushing and other types of acupressure to help the client’s body reach deep relaxation step by step without being too invasive.
Community Acupuncture
Open to support grassroots organizations and activist groups with ear acupuncture-healing circles.
I received much more than a beauty treatment. What Milena offers is a holistic session that goes beyond mere aesthetic acupuncture and its primary goal of increasing collagen production. In my case, the session helped me relax the tension in the facial muscles involved in my bruxism condition. I also noticed an immediate improvement in my skin, because the treatment is much more than just the application of needles. I highly recommend it; the session is a unique time dedicated entirely to self-care.
